Triple Moon Goddess Spirit Doll Sculpture for Prayer Altar

There are times when we are seeking guidance when we know specifically that we are seeking wisdom from the Maiden, or the Mother, or from the Crone. There are other times when we have more difficult challenges to work through and we look to the Triple Moon Goddess in her entirety for sage support. In either case, I wanted to create a small sculpture to keep on a prayer altar that could reflect the embodiment of the Triple Moon Goddess AND  that could do so in a way that many Goddess  beliefs could connect spiritually.

Triple Moon Goddess Spirit Doll OOAK Gourd and Clay Sculpture

This OOAK (Original One of a Kind) Spirit Doll is a Gourd and Clay Sculpture that measures 5 inches in height and 3 inches in width. It makes her perfect not only for the sacred space in your home, but is also small enough to take along while traveling or to spiritual gatherings.

Often during prayer, I will look tot the Maiden when I begin new ventures, projects, or times of new growth. I will look to the Mother when I am focused on protection, fairness, relationships, abundance and health matters. And I look to the Crone for spiritual support, bigger picture views, wisdom,  transitions, and healing.

Her Sacred Heart a Woman in Prayer -Gourd and Clay Spirit Doll Figurative Sculpture

When she is happy, she stands in prayer.
When in sadness, she stands in prayer.
When she is worried, she stands in prayer.
And when she is afraid, she stands in prayer.

Her Sacred Heart a Woman in Prayer - Gourd and Clay Spirit Doll

Her prayer is a part of her, like a deep breath,
it is natural and complete.
It keeps her focused, reassures her heart, and
allows her to keep Standing.
Each word that she speaks, each step that she takes,
are in alliance with her Sacred Heart.

Wise Woman Rising - a Gourd Art Sculpture for Empowering the Feminine

Generations have passed, those years anxiously waiting for the Shift of energy, the energy of the Feminine to re-emerge. Not only our individual souls, but the soul of Mother Earth, have been anticipating the space in time when we as women Rise and reclaim our power.

Mother Earth has waited, and not so patiently, for us to come and Stand with her. The Strength that we as women possess, to watch over, nurture, and make decisions for the highest good is being called to step in and save her from the corruption and greed that ravages her spirit. She also knows that we have had our own inner and outer battles, the battles of claiming and sustaining our own personal power within this "man's world". But, the struggle of working through those lessons has now brought us to that point of readiness. Our perpetual learning over the years about ourselves and our abilities has given birth to our  Wise Woman Warrior, who awaits at the ready to "Stand".

The Wise Woman has arrived, residing deep in our belly. She carries  a staff of Strength, a strength that keeps us going even in the darkest of days, because we are resilient beings. She holds a balance of the Sun and the Moon, blending an ultimate positive love along with the heart and belief of the mystic. Her Faith in herself and that of the Divine Feminine reassures her that her noble path of inspiring, guiding, and protecting is what she is meant to do.

The Wise Woman Warrior is here to Stand, as strong as the Oak tree, flexible but unwavering. She stands with you, your family, the friend who needs a shoulder, the stranger who needs kindness, and Mother Earth who needs  repair.
The Wise Woman Rises, placing one hand in yours while the other hand beckons another "sister". She cries out, the calling to unite us once again.
The Wise Woman Protects, continually letting you know that everything will work out, because the Universe wouldn't treat your authentic spirit in any other way.
The Wise Woman Warrior is You.

Thank you for your Arrival,
Namaste

An Earth Angel to Watch Over Me - Art Doll Pillow Accent

This is a new and different design for my Wisdom Keeper Art Doll Collection. I created this particular "Earth Angel" art doll to be an accent for one's bed pillows. She can be propped against the front of the bed pillows, as if watching over...protecting...and bringing about a peaceful love and guardianship.

I believe in Earth Angels. Recently during some difficult events in my own life, I was shown again the presence of Earth Angels and was inspired in this creation.

The Earth Angel wants you to know:
"You are Divinely Guided in all that you do.
During your darkest days Keep Your Faith.
You are Watched Over and Protected always.
May you always feel the presence of your Guardians."

Flor de Muerto a Cloth and Clay Art Doll for Day of the Dead

This year my creation for Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos), is a Contemporary Folk Art Doll/Figure named Flor de Muerto.
Flor de Muerto (Flower of the Dead) are thought to attract the souls to the offerings that are made on the alters during the Day of Dead celebrations. The Art Doll was created to represent the Flower of the Dead, and honor the ancestors.

She is a Cloth and Clay Art Doll, hand stitched from a beautiful Dia de Muertos themed fabric. She was sewn into a relaxed seated position, and has a black fabric flower sewn at her waist. Her face was created from clay and painted in shades of white to resemble the skull theme, and then detailed with a flower design. Thick black fibers create her dreadlocks hairstyle.

She is a wonderful addition to  Day of the Dead Alter, symbolic of calling the souls to the offerings and love that is extended during the holiday.

Tending the Sacred Fire ~ The Spirituality of Sculpture

Tending the Sacred Fire is a new Gourd and Clay Sculpture by Jeanne Fry.

"The Sisters take their responsibility of tending their sacred fire with great care. Each step, thought, and movement are focused on their intentions and prayers. They carry with them the wisdom of the women before them, carrying on tradition for those who will come after them."

In this artwork, I used as much care in choosing the elements of the sculpture, as the two sisters in the story. I wanted to capture the essence of their spirituality and use Earth element symbolism.
The sisters are sculpted from gourd and clay. Acrylics of periwinkle blue, greys, and burnt umber were used to represent a soothing sense gathered from being in balance with the Earth. Burlap was used to create their head wraps, that was painted with acrylics and a textile medium that gives them structure.

The taller sister who is carrying firewood, wears a shoulder bag made of the same burlap that holds a small blue paper flower, symbolic for their ancestral wisdom. The rose colored paper flower at her hip represents the Divine Feminine.

The shorter sister, who is also wearing blue paper flowers on her head wrap, holds her hands clasped together at her waist, to receive the blessings from their prayers. The sacred fire circle is created with river stones and miniature wood in the center. Each sister has a large dried botanical at her feet, each holding one small dried paper flower or botanical, both gifts back to the Earth for their gratefulness.
The sculpture sits on a wooden display block that is painted black and is signed, titled, and dated on the bottom by me. In it's entirety the sculpture is 11.5 inches in length, 10 inches in height, and 5.5 inches in width. A story card accompanies the artwork.
